Assist America contacted the treating doctor at the hospital who confirmed that Farah had indeed fractured her arm. He was able to reduce the fracture without surgery and then immobilize it. She was given anti-inflammatory medication to reduce swelling and medicine to help with the pain.
Assist America monitored her condition even after she left the hospital. It was recommended she begin physical therapy for the arm and remain in Mexico for two weeks before flying home due to the length of the flight. Once she was considered fit to fly, Assist America arranged and paid for her to fly home via commercial carrier with a non-medical escort to assist with anything she needed during the trip.
