Fog and smog causing ground/air transport disruptions in eastern China. Interruptions possible through at least Dec. 9
12/5/2013
The China Meteorological Administrations has issued yellow alerts - its second highest level - for smog, fog, and haze for Shanghai municipality, as well as eastern Anhui, northern Fujian, northern Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces.
Plan for possible cargo shipment delays. Confirm all travel reservations; do not check out of hotels before verifying onward travel. Seek updated information on road conditions before driving between cities in the affected regions, and be prepared to postpone travel. Those with pulmonary or respiratory conditions should limit outdoor movement in the affected provinces to reduce exposure to polluted air until conditions improve; wear a facemask if operating outdoors is unavoidable.
