UnitedHealthcare Company Adds Assist America Global Emergency Medical Assistance Services to Product Mix

Mumbai, India, and Princeton, N.J., U.S.A.—(February 2, 2009)—UnitedHealthcare India – a health services organization, an operating division of UnitedHealth Group, the largest single health carrier in the U.S., announced today that it has partnered with Assist America Medical Emergency Services Pvt. Limited, the Hyderabad-based component of Assist America, Inc., Princeton, N.J., the premier provider of global emergency services through employee benefit plans, to protect its members  with emergency travel assistance.

Effective immediately, Assist America will support UnitedHealthcare India members and their families through their corporate health plans with an array of services, including medical referral and monitoring, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, hospital admission guarantee, bedside visit and more, if they become ill or injured while traveling 100 miles (150 kilometers) or more away from home, or in another country.
