In the wake of popular destinations relaxing restrictions and more countries opening their borders internationally, crowd numbers for this Spring are anticipated to be one for the books. With Spring Break spanning between mid-March and Mid-April for most K-12 children, families are expecting to turn out in droves this year. 79% of leisure travelers had planned to schedule extended outings in the next six months at the beginning of the year, and at the start of March, one-quarter of American travelers had vacation plans at some point over the following 60 days.
Warm weather destinations are anticipated to be the most popular, as yearly standard, but many are projected to branch out into international travel as COVID-19 travel restrictions ease in many countries and overall health concerns decrease. Airlines are anticipating a record demand for air travel this spring with an average of 2.6 million people flying out every day between March and April.
