How/When to Contact Us

For Students

Whenever you travel 100 miles (150 km) or more from home, be sure to bring your Scholastic Emergency Services ID card with you.

If you ever need help because of a medical emergency or other serious problem—such as a missing passport, forgotten prescription or lost luggage—just call the phone number on your card, day or night and we will get you the help you need.

If you have downloaded the Assist America app to your phone, you can simply open the app and press the red CALL FOR HELP bar at the bottom of the screen.

For Parents

If you hear about an emergency before we do, please tell your child to call the phone number on his or her Scholastic Emergency Services ID card (or use the cell phone app as illustrated above).

If your child is unable to call us, please call us directly and let us know how we can help.

We strongly urge you to keep a copy of your child’s Scholastic Emergency Services ID card with you while your daughter or son is traveling. It will give you the phone number to call if you ever need to get in touch with us, as well as your child’s SES reference number, which will save time during an emergency.

For Faculty & Administration

If you hear about an emergency before we do, please tell the student to call the phone number on his or her Scholastic Emergency Services ID card (or use the cell phone app as illustrated above). Or feel free to call us directly and let us know what the problem is.

The plan administrator for your school will have all the necessary information, including our contact number and the student’s membership number.
